While your first instinct might be to shoot everything that moves, remember that your main objective is to save the Wee People. Run over them to pick them up before you start shooting the bad guys.
Pick up power-ups! These can help you cause a large amount of damage over a wide area!
As a level progresses, you will notice that the mushrooms left behind by the destroyed centipede segments start creating a "funnel" of sorts that the centipede will use to travel down the screen. Shoot repeatedly at the bottom of that "funnel" for easy kills and big points.
The known issues with Centipede are detailed in the Readme file installed into the Centipede folder. Please consult that file first, as several issues and their resolutions are included there.
Setting up a multiplayer game is detailed on page 8 of the game manual. Please ensure that all computers involved in the multiplayer game meet the necessary requirements to run the game.
"When I try to set up a multiplayer game, I get an error about a file called NETCLIENT.LIB."
This error indicates that you do not have the correct protocol loaded. If you already have Open Transport loaded and running, just change your Network protocol from Mac TCP to TCP/IP. If you meet the requirements and are running System 8.1 or later, you should have a sufficiently recent version of Open Transport loaded, however, if you are still having troubles, it's always a good idea to download the latest version from http://asu.info.apple.com.
"The in-game movies are stuck up in the corner of my monitor."
Problems such as the in-game movies being displayed off-center usually occur because the video resolution is set too high. The videos are designed to be displayed in 640 by 480 resolution. While it doesn't harm anything for the videos to run like they do now, you'll want to change your resolution to 640 by 480 if you want them centered up. This is done in the Monitors Control Panel.
If your problem isn't covered in this document or in the Readme file, please try the following troubleshooting steps before contacting MacSoft Technical Support:
Check to make sure that your system meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for the game. If your system meets these requirements, but does not exceed them, video or sound may be hesitant.
Make sure that all other programs, including screen savers and virus scanning software, are turned off.
Make sure virtual memory is turned off.
Some software titles may have extension conflicts with this game. Turn off all extensions that you are not using for the game.
