Carnivores is a true hunting simulation, in spite of its science fiction setting. In order to find and kill the animals, you will have to follow some basic rules:
Move into the wind so that the dinosaurs will not smell you.
Look for signs of animals in the area such as tracks or the dinosaurs themselves.
You can use calls to lure the animals in, but be careful… the carnivorous ones can hear you too. If they think you're an herbivorous dinosaur, they'll try to eat you.
Be patient and don't move around too much! If you see tracks or other signs of animals, and use the tips we just described, then they WILL eventually come to you if you give them a chance.
It is not possible to reload your weapon in Carnivores. Be very careful to save ammunition for the animal that earns you points! You cannot earn points by shooting non-target animals, and the use of cheat codes and some Hunting Accessories will lower your earned points as well. The points required to advance in hunting level are in your manual on page 6.
Cheat Codes
To enable cheat codes, type "debugon" while playing. In this mode, you automatically have unlimited ammunition and immunity to lava, and the dinosaurs will ignore you unless you shoot at them.
While the debug mode is on, type one or more of the following cheat codes:
Hold down the <Ctrl> key to move very quickly <Shift> and <s> will toggle slow mode <Shift> and <t> will toggle the timer and polygon counter displays.
