Double-click the "Football 2002 Update" folder on your Desktop to open it.
Inside that folder is a file, also called "Football 2002 Update". Double-click that file and follow the directions to install it.
WARNING: Once you have installed the patch, a BY Football 2002 folder will be created on your hard drive. You MUST run the Football 2002 program in that hard drive (as opposed to running the game off of the CD or by clicking the Play option on the Autorun screen) to take advantage of the update. The patch will offer to create an alias to this program on your Desktop if you so desire at the end of the patching process.
Game used to be prone to crashing when bypassing intro and in-game movies. This has been addressed.
Addressed some LAN-gaming issues.
When performing a Full Draft in Season mode, clicking the Pick For Me button when a player card was on-screen used to cause a crash with an error. This has been fixed.
Tool-tip in options screen tells user they may *view*, their game-setup options, rather than change them.
Music didn't loop correctly after user visits the cards room
Fixed problem where using space-bar to pause did not work after loading a playbook.
Footprints are now removed properly during field-goals in snow games.
PC-specific fixes:
Added IP-address dialog box for internet games
PC uninstaller now removes saved playbook files
Game now goes into demo mode when left unattended on PC, instead of repeatedly prompting user to start a game.
Mac-specific fixes:
The Mac Readme files are now the plaintext version of the HTML helpfiles.
There are two updates users can make to the "Football2002.inf"
file:
Internet play can be enabled by finding the section labeled [DefaultINIValues] and typing "InternetConnect=1" underneath it.
Demo games can be replaced by helpful prompts on the clubhouse screen by finding the section labeled [DefaultINIValues] and looking for the line beneath it that reads "DemoGameDelay=45". The "45" should be changed to a "0", as so: "DemoGameDelay=0".
