ok i have never heard about this .hack thing b4 i bought the ps2 game .hack infection which im working my way through at the moment. someone tell me all i need to know about the series so it makes a bit more sense to me??? please

Now for a brief history... (hope I don't make any mistake ;) )

It all begins with .hack //SIGNS, which is an anime series of 26 episodes in Japan (I think that it is on Cartoon Network in US).
This serie tells the story of an MMORPG (The World) and some users that play on them.

.hack //INFECTION for PS2 tells the story of 2 friends. One of them (nick ORCA) invites other (nick KITE) to play the game. When Orca and Kite are in one field, they are then "killed" by a strange character that a skill very weird (data drain).
In real life, they are uncounscious... but Kite wakes up, and finds his friend Orca in comma at the hospital...
Kite then starts is journey in The Word to try to figure out what happened to his friend...

The .hack series for PS2 is composed of 4 volumes (which names I can't remember), and happens after .hack //SIGNS.

At the same time, each PS2 episode brings a 45 min DVD episode, of events that happen at the same time of each game, but in real life... Be aware that those episodes have some clues to be used in the game it self... pretty cool ;)


I also think that there is another .hack something in the middle that i can't remeber now...


BTW, Europe was the last part of the world to get the .hack series... we will get the next 3 PS2 episodes until the end of the year...

In japan it started in 2002 I think, and the last ps2 episodes is released in 24 april (btw, the name if each game in japan is different from europe); and in the US I think that started in 2003...

On the liminality DVD, there is a section called Data, go onto it then onto "The World" section, stick on the english subtitles and away you go, it tells you everything ^^

hey thanx for that it all makes a bit more sense now :) im up to the bit where mia has just told me how to hack the gates and im trying to get through that dungeon but im finding it really hard. im sure il get there though with a bit of hard work. seems a cool gameim normally a final fantasy person but this is cool :)
