Can anyone tell me where the dvd's are sold? I don't think they are in the stores here (are they sold somewhere in stores in Europe?) so maybe a good place on the internet.
Cheers for your help
The best place ive seen so far Grandmaster is dvdboxoffice.com
I always import my stuff at dvdpacific.com , but you need a creditcard for that one. ^^'

so they are not for sale in the stores in Europe? i don't have a creditcard and import is probably expansive, and since i'm new with .hack (i only have the game) and don't know the sign serie or any anime at all (except DBZ/GT) i was hoping i could buy one of the sign dvd's in a store to check if i like it.
Does anyone know an onlineshop or something closer to The Netherlands? that way it's less expansive when ordering. Thanks for the replies so far :)
And sorry for posting this in your topic Ryan, but since you have the answer to your question i thought i might as well post it here.
archonia.com is close to The Netherlands (its in Belgium) and you can pay in that onlineshop with banktransfer, and when you paid it mostly took a few days and someone is standing in front of the door with a package :)

I searched for .hack//sign on the site, but only vol. 1 is PAL, region 2 (i think it's a french edition wich also has french language and subtitles+dutch subtitles) and the rest are NTSC (region 1). This doesn't work on european dvd players, right? I also have a PS2, maybe this guy can play them?
But thanks for the site anyway Kite, have you ever ordered from them?
yes I have ordered from them (also from a few other ones).

i see, it doesn't work. but the site is reliable if your order was ok. only problem is the region then.
No the ps2 is region 2 only, if your computer has a dvd player that should be fine, you can buy a disc that would make your Ps2 muiti-region how good their are i dont know. Of course your tv must be able too support 60mhz too be able too veiw the dics.

@ Ma$ter: As far as I know they are not for sale in Europe. So you would have to import them I think, unless they will be available in Europe in the future.
@ Ryan: Where are they going to be released? In Europe or only a few countries? Please let me know if you know more about it.

hehe, we can only hope
in the american ones it seems you can only see episode 27 when you buy the special edition volume 6 dvd, paying an extra $15
lol, so hopefully we can get it at normal price than having to pay extra for special one

Great news for all the Dutch people who don't have .hack//sign but want to buy:
http://www.nekotachi.nl/index.php?page=main
EDIT: So far there are only stores in Belgium where they are sold... :( Maybe some dutch stores will come too...
List of the stores:
http://www.nekotachi.nl/index.php?page=verdelers
well, I have all the US releases but maybe i also going to buy the "european/dutch" version.
I still need to think about it but on the other side it would be a great collection then :D
GrandmasterB
22-04-2004, 10:28 pm
You allready have about everything :D
It would be a great way to expand your collection. And with the dutch version you can watch the serie with cool Dutch subtitles! :p
But I think it's great they will be released in Holland as well, since I don't want to order from the internet, but do want to see the series.

For those of you who are Danish or Norwegian and don't want to use eBay or amazon, www.dvdstrax.com has the 6 US SIGN discs, the first DUSK/Legend of .... and the 2 first UK discs. And you don't need a creditcard.

In UK Stores (region 2) the release has been put off to 10th May
But it will be in stores like Virgin, and HMV
You could buy a Multi-Region version off the net, but it will be japanese with english subtitles for the whole series
or you can buy the american dvds (region 1) off amazon
hope that helps, let me know if it doesnt, i know alot more, just alot of it isnt as relavent

Yes, a pal ps2 only plays region 2 dvds. But you can make it region free. I haven't tried though.

To make it multiregion it would require chipping or something like that, it would be easier to play region 1 dvds on either computers (most dvd programs allow you to change region 5 times before freezing with that region so you could use PS2 for region 2 dvds, and PC for region 1)
or get a multiregion dvd player, they sell them in ASDA for 40 pounds

converting it with a ripper 2 gold wich is to play divx too doesn't work but they play on some normal dvd player like mine.

You don't need a chip to make a ps2 multiregion, you can use a cd, they sell them on amazon, not sure where else though

The DVD's could be for sale in Europe. IF you had a local DVD store or national online DVD store that sells them. I have bought Disc 1-5 via a DVD online shop located here in Sweden. Missing the last one though, hopefully they'll get it soon!

believe the cd was called region x or sumthing silmilar
Do any of you guys think that there's a chance that the //SIGN DVDs will be released as a boxed set at some point? I've seen most of the series so I don't see the point of buying the DVDs yet. It's a little irratating that boxsets of anime series are released in the US, but never over here.

Yeah, the Americans get all the best stuff... and don't even get me started on the whole Evangelion remastered stuff that the UK will never get...(though we get the Resurrection DC on June 21st) Or the Evangelion games... It's hard being an anime fan in the UK... Anyway, .hack//SIGN boxset? Unlikely...
