Hey what did you all call 'Kite' on your game and why!?

This thread has no real substance it's just cus I'm curious and for fun! :D

Well...I called him 'Kaiwa.' Dunno why really!! Kinda influenced by Seto Kaiba (from Yu-Gi-Oh!) and Kairi (form Kingdom Hearts) I guess. Just altered it slightly and thaught it looked cool!

'Kite' is just boring and unoriginal! So lemme know what you called him :P

I used the same name as i'm using on this very forum! I was stuck for a name, which is weird as i'm normally good with names, then Xias popped into my mind. It's a place in this tale i'm writing(nothing to do with .Hack) about the life of Taila Rosebunt, a teenage girl who manages to break away from our world and into a spirit realm called 'Xias'. The story follows Taila as she helps Xias with it's problems and, eventually, tries to make her way back home!

So, yeah, I used Xias.

no im not wineing u up :P theres 25 eps of Hack Sign and 12 eps of hack dust, hack sign takes place before the games and hack dust takes place after the game with kite and blackrose's skins being used with 2 new players that won a compertition :P

best thing to do is use kazaa or a Bittorrent and download the fansubs, long as there not released in your contry then downloading them is fully legal :P as it wont be copyrighted in your country and seen as fansubs are by fans for fans and totaly free should be nothing wrong with it :P

uh, wrong. It is still illegal since youre going against the japanese copyright holders, but it's highly unlikely that they will go after you, and if the series isnt licensed in your country no one is going to care. And keep in mind that there are no good english .hack//SIGN fansubs, the translations are very inaccurate and sometimes even completely wrong in the later episodes. In one episode the fansubs gave Crim 3 different names (Krim, Cream and Kurimu). And bad translations hurt this anime a lot, since its very dialogue driven.
I highly suggest to somehow get ahold of one or two episodes and use them as a preview, if you like it then buy the DVDs.

Also Mazuko I don't think one should encourage illegal filesharing on a official board. But I'm not a moderator, so.. :)

ye i though that 2 but when the anime dosn't get released over hear for like a year or more after its been released it gets anoying -.-, if they where out in english or subed on dvd for sail then id buy them :P would save me the troble of downloading a 40 hour+ download :D

I think in my next play through I will call myself...*Demonite pauses and considers names*...Hagen- Responsible for killing Sir Siegfreid, but his attack was so dishonest I could not call myself by such a name. I am still looking for a name. Sir Dietrich perhaps...but I need to read the story more closely! :P

i was boring and kept him as kite... but nothing to do with .hack at all.... kingdom of hearts was a cool game :D

Yes it was a cool game!! I prefer .hack though I must admit.

For my next play through I have decided that I will call him:

Deus (means God in Portugese)
Dyne (from FF7)
Arkana (from Yu-Gi-Oh!)
Ta-Lien (after a port in NE China)
Wayland (the hand that crafted Balmung)

Now you're forcing me to reply :p . I think Squall is the coolest looking FF hero from FF VIII to X-2. I don't know any of the characters before VIII, and I don't really know squall as character because I haven't played the game myself, but I saw the game a couple of times and I played the demo like three times or even more, and I think he's the coolest character. Tidus and Auron from FF X and Seifer from VIII are pretty cool too, but Squall is the coolest.

Anyway, back on topic (:p): Everytime I play a game and have to name a character, I don't know a good name so I stay with the original ones. Sometimes I think of a name afterwards, but usually I stick with the original names.

Squall is a love or hate character (much like Tidus). I think he's really cool too, although he can be very stubborn at times.

We are straying a little off topic here...but I think that Namingway (from FFV) or any of the FFVII characters are the best. VIII was a total flop, IMO! IX was okay and X/X-2 I never played.

However I agree, with most RPGs I keep the original name, but I felt that I could do better than 'Kite' so I did :P

I also use the original names because in game reviews and everything you read about the game the original names are used. That's why I stick to them, if I would use a different name it would feel like playing a different character. Specially when it's a very well known game with tv commercials and lot's of info on the internet and magazines.

I always change the name of the character if it gives me the option too. I called kite twinky just because I thought he looked like someone who would be called twinky. In ff7 i called cloud fluffy and in ff8 i called squall squiffy. in 9 I called zidane plimbly and in X I called tidus scruffmutt. theres absouletly no reason for any of these names its just what i felt like at the time hehehehe

well squink was the original name for my phantasy star online character and it just stuck with me i guess. I really like FF8 because you could name all the GFs thats 18 names in total i got to think up, 16 Gfs the main character and his ring (which i called simbafing that was funny coming up against the end boss and she was like bow down to the mightiest GF SIMBAFING)
