So where do you get your user names from? Mine's from an old Monty Python sketch.

The sketch (cut down a bit for space):
A customer enters a pet shop.
Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.
Owner: We're closin' for lunch.
Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this parrot what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.
Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?
Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!
Owner: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
Mr. Praline: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.
Owner: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!
Mr. Praline: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the cage) 'Ello, Mister Polly Parrot! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you show...
(owner hits the cage)
Owner: There, he moved!
Mr. Praline: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!
Owner: I never!!
Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!
Owner: I never, never did anything...
Mr. Praline: (yelling and hitting the cage repeatedly) 'ELLO POLLY!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!
(Takes parrot out of the cage and thumps its head on the counter. Throws it up in the air and watches it plummet to the floor.)
Mr. Praline: Now that's what I call a dead parrot.
Owner: No, no.....No, 'e's stunned!
Mr. Praline: STUNNED?!?
Owner: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Norwegian Blues stun easily, major.
Mr. Praline: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That parrot is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.
Owner: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fjords.
Mr. Praline: PININ' for the FJORDS?!?!?!? What kind of talk is that?, look, why did he fall flat on his back the moment I got 'im home?
Owner: The Norwegian Blue prefers keepin' on it's back! Remarkable bird, id'nit, squire? Lovely plumage!
Mr. Praline: Look, I took the liberty of examining that parrot when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the
first place was that it had been NAILED there.
Owner: Well, o'course it was nailed there! If I hadn't nailed that bird down, it would have nuzzled up to those bars, bent 'em apart with its beak, and VOOM! Feeweeweewee!
Mr. Praline: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this bird wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'E's bleedin' demised!
Owner: No no! 'E's pining!
Mr. Praline: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

my name is just something i came up with. i think i fall in the otaku league and i like noisecore. not very imaginative of me, yeah, but i like the way it sounds so nyah :p

Well...this is how my user name came about:
A few years back, when I had a DC, and went online with it, I got Phantasy Star online. I was creating my character, and when it came to enter my characters name, everything I tryed was already taken. So I started looking round for inspiration...and looked upon my (then) magnificent tower of PS games.
Near the top was an a greatly underated game called 'Hogs of War' - so I combined the 'Hogs' with the 'O' from of, to make Hogs-o!
Now I never have any trouble when signing up on anything cos this names never taken! Woooo-Hoooooooo!

PS. Great Monty Python sketch, and a great thread too!! :D

LoL, here's my username's lifestory... *cough*

I used to be known as OneWingedAngel*Cloud on quite the places around then net, but that name got old and I wanted a new one.
So then I started playing Lunar, and I used the name Dragonmaster X, wish I dumped even faster then OneWingedAngel*Cloud >_>
Then I thought: Ok, I need a good nick. One Winged Angels show feathers...and feathers are light *idea!*
I took the word mass, which means weight and since feathers weight almost nothing, I added 0 (zero) after it.
Now it looked a bit boring, so I went and capitalized some letter and tada! There's my nick ;)

history of my usernames- once i always used my surname, than i found a coupla sites that already had it used, from there i got so fed up one day i typed in potluck, which wrked, 1st time that failed i decided i had badpotluck and so typed that, which failed leadin me to decide i had verybadpotluck, which tended to work most the time, after a while i changed to things like darkestmindseye and inconspicoustranger, which changed to angelus and then finally wantin another decent name i choose shadow, which as there werent many members then stuck and as such i become shadow!- yea i no its long winded but its the story heh

Nothing particularly interesting 'bout my user name. A few years back I was trying to think of a good user name for playing online, but I couldn't think of anything I liked. At the same time I started working on a Half-life modification (which was never been finished.... yet), in which the main character was a guy named Page. I decided to use that as a temporary name, but it kinda stuck.
I guess i'll carry on using it 'till I finally decide on a name that I really like.

I was looking for a good picture when I found the brillent picture of a dragon, Dragons have to be one of my favorate mithical creatrures next to demons so to think up a name I thought of Dragontic words and looking at the word Dragontic I changed it to Dragontus that i am now.

My name is just a distorted version of my real name, I nicked the idea off someone else, so I'm just a copycat really, but the name just kinda stuck, and it's what I use, no-one ever uses it.
Also, its aparently the Irish version of my name, but I only found that out today, and I would have thought it would be the same, but i don't know about names....

Its nice to hear the background as to why you use the username you do, and how you came across it. So, for out newer members, please tell us about your username!

Shiro means 'white' in japanese. I know this because a friend who speaks japanese told me.

What does that have to do with it? Not a lot, but I use the name for two, nay three reasons.

a) Because I like the word

2) Because I'm a comics fan, and Sunfire from the X-Men's first name is Shiro

and

d) Because it's kind of ironic, in that I wear black and other dark colours a lot of the time.

I named myself after two things. I put the millennium part because I didn't really have internet service until around the end of 1999, which is just before the new millennium (2000 woo hoo!). However, when I made my user name I accidently misspelled millennium and actually put milliennium (notice the extra "i") but I liked the look so I kept it!:D As for the fox, well I love animals and I love foxes, but another reason for choosing the fox was because I had taken the name from the game Star Fox which I love playing. Whew, that was alot, but now you all know a little more about myself!:D

Theres even a website about Senor Rory, although i made it so i can't claim he is being written about because of his fame.

Anyhew, J.D. is one of my comedy heroes, as is Dr. Cox. Anyone who can use the line...

AHHHHHHH. A SCRUBS FAN. that is a genius piece of comedy. series 4 started on e4 last night. i was over the moon. running round shouting 'yay, scrubs is back'

I LOVE scrubs. (I also LOVE TCW but in another way...)

Also, they just released season 1 on DVD in the US, which should be on amazon... oops! there goes the rest of your cash :x

they're releasing season 1 dvd in may/june over here i believe. i've been looking out for it since it started on tv and its taken years but its finally coming. season 2 is following about 1-2 months afterwards. sky one has the rights to season 3 i believe and they're not likely to show it again. i haven't seen it either though. :(

no i don't. i didn't realise there was one. hmm, maybe i should get it then. but i hope that series 3 comes out. the dvd rights are independent of what channels show them so i'm guessing it will. even if it does take years like series 1 and 2. but series 4 started with turk and carla coming back from their honeymoon, and heather graham is now in it. the janitor is still so funny though. JD and elliot are also head residents now. they're full doctors, not interns anymore.
