Bah! My mates PS2 finally clonked out recently - it was an original model. In a similar situation to Seraph, he didn't have any money to buy a new one...so he decided to take it apart.
Next day, he comes into college with the Emotion Engine and MotherBoard in his bag, and attempted to attach them to a calculator in an Electronics lesson.
Needless to say, it didn't work, but was funny none the less :)

how much do ps2's cost where u ppl live? i got mine for 190 euro.. the blue (aqua?) edition with a controller... is that considered expensive? i only bought it coz the normal version didnt come with a controller and if i bought them separately it'd cost me 220, so it just made sense.

heh are you running on the original model? lol if it "crashed" then try cleaning the lense on the DVD drive, or you may have burnt its dvd drive out or worse its mother board out.

You balanced your ps2 on a fish tank? With fish in? And water? I'd be thankfull the dog pulled it over! Newer drivers sound good... I don't even know what drivers my ps2 has, not since I got it replaced, damn cd tray... never trying anything which involves sliding things inside my ps2 again... Least it was still on guarenty so I could have it replaced Good old Sony, or whoever it is that sorts out the replacements...

Still...I need evidence that it does not melt...This goes back a long way, but basically, in a food tech lesson about 5 years ago, a mate of mine decided to 'make' welsh rarebit - with stilton - and claimed that it did not melt....and I'm too scared of the stuff to even try :(
