mine is "give and expect the best". it used to be "laboraire et servire"-to live and to serve. i'm doing GCSE latin.
Mad Larkin
06-05-2005, 07:01 pm
LATIN?? WOW. OUR SCHOOL ONLY DOES BORING LANGUAGES
sakuya
06-05-2005, 07:04 pm
it's a dead language. they're the ones that are hosting the trip that i'm going on to Italy....
milliennium_fox
06-05-2005, 07:07 pm
Lol! Did you take the class just for the trip??!!:D
Mad Larkin
06-05-2005, 07:08 pm
SO. anything's better than german
sakuya
06-05-2005, 07:16 pm
no i took the class because my mum made me. it's only for people who are really good at languages and, well....i had a five year head-start anyway. i went to a french class every saturday for five years before i went to secondary school, and because of it i'm practically top of my class (and i'm in set 1) and therefore, my mum who think's i'm the best in my school (over-exaggerating much?) demanded that i go to latin class. and lucky me, i get a trip to italy out of it as well as something nice to put on my CV when applying for medical school

Me - I may not seem it but so am I (in some things (namely anything to do with computers or amazingly complicated mathematics, theories and other stuff))
O'malley - You are not
sakuya
06-05-2005, 07:30 pm
lol, i'm not being arrogant am i? i know i'm a smart-ass but i don't want to be a show-off like my brother (which might i add did worse in his GCSEs than i am predicted to do)
oh s**t. i am as arrogant as my brother.....
Senor Rory
06-05-2005, 09:49 pm
no, its ok to be confident in your own abilities, if you aren't then you're doomed to fail if you can't accept that we are good at different things.
you're not being arrogant, and consciously recognising the fact that it might be taken that way shows that you're not
Shiro
06-05-2005, 10:00 pm
Rory's right. You're not being smug.
And it's cool to be top of the class.
well the only thing im top of the class for is good ol' english...which i really cant see how some people find it hard...as long as you can stay awake thru poetry your fine!
and i foung out my schools motto..."making the best better" how arrogant is that!!! if ignorance was bliss eh?;)
Shiro
06-05-2005, 10:24 pm
I think 'If ignorance was bliss, eh?' should be a school motto. Think how cool that would be. Fancy founding a school, Duo?
okay then...*looks in pocket* iv got 23p how about you?

After Kingham took over it was 'Education, Experience, Elephants' or something like that. I'm pretty sure it was 3 E's anyway.
Before that, with the other guy...whatever his name was...I'm not sure.
Our year made that school what it is today...by shaking it to the very core so they HAD to sort it out :D
Now its 'Etone Community School AND Technology College'
Well ours is the very reputable "Ickneild high Art college" but its in luton so that doesnt count!!!:D lutons such a dump

Here's a job for you-- try to make it so that your sig changes depending on whether you're on or offline. When you're online, have the lighter, happier version, when you're offline have the one you have now! It would only take a small amount of hacking.
...and it would stop you from calling me a loser for 10 minutes. lol.
Ruri-Ruri
09-05-2005, 12:11 am

just with the power of their minds.
This moderator stuff, more like a cult....a sect than anything else. they're trained to kill with their mind so they can destroy spammers and the like
and maybe one of you're alter ego's created it larkin, that might explain the whole not remembering issue
Shiro

They can melt people's skulls with but a stray thought... it happens accidentally occasionally unless they wear tin foil hats like Art Wolf...

haha, yeah, i remember that thing when the internet and chat rooms first started up, so many innocent lives lost because we couldn't understand what we'd created. poor victims of forums and chat rooms, so many gone forever...........
Shiro

I heard that way out in the futher reaches of Tyneside, there was a mod who spent time trying to figure out how to resurrect the people who were lost from the Jupiter's Kiss incident (yes, OK, I'm that sad...), but he only managed to make a homunculus that strangely resembled Ulrika Jonsson...

Senor Rory
10-05-2005, 01:26 am
probably, he's shamelessly tried to rip off terms from .hack so why not FMA too. haha
milliennium_fox
10-05-2005, 01:30 am
Lol! I wouldn't be surprised! Next thing Shiro will try to steal is my humor...must...guard...:p :p
Senor Rory
10-05-2005, 01:33 am
well, i'm not sure who's can be dodgier at times. but i'm thinking shiro, so yeah, be on your gaurd. he might try and take it in a way used before in a game or tv series the riper offer-er that he is
Shiro
10-05-2005, 10:22 pm
Poor, Rory, I expected better...
lol... now whose sense of humour am I ripping off? :p ;)
milliennium_fox
10-05-2005, 10:32 pm
Does that mean you did take that word from FMA??
Shiro
10-05-2005, 10:34 pm
Homunculus was a word already, used to describe an 'alchemic being', and as such it was used in FMA to refer to what is created by performing human alchemy. They also used the term Chimaera to describe a fusion between two different living things, which was taken from the name of a greek monster. But you probably knew that already.
So in a way, yeah, I did rip that off from FMA.
Also, sorry for any offence caused by humour-theft...:/

10-05-2005, 10:43 pm
Okool! I didn't know! You learn something new everyday!:D
Don't worry about the humor! I'm NEVER offended! It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to offend me!:D Shiro, you worry too much sometimes!:D
Senor Rory
10-05-2005, 10:47 pm
it's understandable though, i worry about ofending people as i seem to do it enough in my normal life so its always a worry when you have a tendency to do it on a regular basis. so shiro might be the same way, not wanting to offend people by accident i mean
maybe we should make, the non offendable club. haha
Shiro
10-05-2005, 11:03 pm
You got me - I am exactly like that... sometimes I panic and replay old conversations in my head and keep trying to second guess how all of the comments I made had been taken by people...:/
Yeah, let's make the non-offendable club... Oooh! I could make a banner!
milliennium_fox
11-05-2005, 07:41 am
You shouldn't worry about it too much Shiro!:p Unless, you really DID say something offensive!:p I'm pretty sure that what you say really isn't misinterpreted! :D
The same goes for you, Senor!:D Yeah, sometimes what you say sounds harsh, but I'm sure most people can read through it and understand what you are really saying! I know I do!:D
Senor Rory
11-05-2005, 10:04 am
haha, i remember reading somewhere recently someone asking if i was being horrible or something and then you said something along the lines of not taking me in the wrong way. yeah, i do it and then worry. i also know what you mean by replaying conversations in yor head Shiro. i still do it over one thing of a thread from a different forum when someone said to 'thats really patronising, i think you should stop' at the time it didn't bother me but it was later that i realised that i had said nothing to be interpreted that way and that what the person had said was a little pissy. nevermind....
but yeah 'UNOFFENDABLES'
Shamay
11-05-2005, 12:59 pm
Id join youre club but I take offence easily... Oh well :) I only take it when its meant at least! (And that includes when people say no offence, if you dont want to offend dont say it!)
And what I find is that guys will say things that are offensive, and be unphased by it, but if a girkl hears it theyll be upset by it, but guys will never notice that thatll happen. Too thick to live eh? Oh well
I reply conversations in my head, but my memory isnt that good so it all gets blurred and I find it hard to remember what I said, what they said, and what I thought, and I mistake them for each other...
milliennium_fox
11-05-2005, 04:12 pm
Meh, I really never offend anybody. And if what I'm about to say to someone sounds even slightly offensive, I apologize in advance!:D
Shiro
11-05-2005, 05:14 pm
It's a good plan! Putting a ride on something before you say it...!
But yeah, generally I don't mean to be offensive... apart from about 2 posts on here which were a bit flamey I generally try not to upset people...
