Anyone know how many discs there will be? Is it just the one or is it a series?

SpiderVirus

Legend of the Twilight is the Manga Comic Books set 5 years after the game
There are 2 books out now, 3rd comes out in August

There is a TV Series of it but it is known as DUSK or some Japanese name.

About the Series:

***** Spoiler *****

*
*
*

Its set with Shugo and his sister that win the Kite and Black Rose character models because Black Rose and Kite havent been on since the Twilight Incident (The Games) And Auro gets in touch and the problems start all over again. It includes alot of them researching about the game, so it could contain some spoilers if you watch/read it before completing the games

***** End of Spoiler *****

Hope that helps

all i know is i dont recomend seeing it until after you have seen SIGN and played the games, its set 5 years after the game, and what i have seen and read so far contains many spoilers for the game, which is on reason im glad the 3rd book isnt coming out until after the 4th game, but i love reading it i want it sooner lol

They might be released in England but not in the Netherlands where I live.(wich is a shame) I'd like it if more stuff like anime and videogames would be released in the Netherlands/Europe.(most of all anime series don't get broadcasted here alot)

SpiderVirus

it isnt popular in Europe

the series were on in America years ago, but not in UK, its only coming to UK because of the Game

the closest to TV you'll get is on Sci Fi Channel, im keeping my eyes open, i'll let anyone know who wants it when i find something

I have the books and havent finished the games or seen all of sign (only on episode 12 atm)

But they do contain spoilers, i dont mind it, but if you dont want to spoil it, Sign, then Games, then Dusk/Books
If you dont mind, they are all excellent stories so far :D

DeadParrot

I bought mine at one of my local animé dealers, in English, but you can get them online.

rpgmasterjayo
28-04-2004, 06:06 pm
well in the Netherlands they aren't that well known and anime is labled like being pokemon(alot don't even know that) so getting anime here is really hard so if I want to buy it I'll probably need to buy it of a store online and have it sent here.

DeadParrot

They have it at amason.com and ebay.com. Didn't check the british sites.

They're imports from America

the easiest places are 'Borders' as they import most American Book and have a HUGE Graphic Novel section, or i used Waterstones to order the second book, i got the ISBN off Amazon

America is bigger on the manga front than we are, but either way only the first 2 legend of the twilight books are out, the american 3rd comes out in August, so we have to wait till then

there is no confirmed English version being made, if i findout anything though, i'll let you know

I hope , that you're right :o
But I think it must be more than ... hmmm... seven / eight, 'cause the Story is complex.... (maybe not, but if you read mangas (<- u say Manga in english:confused: ) like Dragon Ball Z, which has 42 books and isn't as complex as .hack ... so you will think it's complex ;) )

Well... well :D
Somebody out there who now how many books will be released until we know 'THE LAST MYSTERY'

good night guys :)
(Well... I'm not going to sleep so early, but I will do something without using the computer ^^)

I hate living in Denmark. We are so dimunitive, and unknown, so we dont get all the good stuff. We´ll have to buy anime things, and the like, from the net. We have a few stores, which sell some mangas and animes, but the prices are, to quote one of my favorite bands: Slipknot, SIC! I can´t wait to get away from this dumb!

DeadParrot
11-05-2004, 04:59 pm
It's pretty much the same situation in Norway. There's 2 stores that sell manga, Avalon and Outland, and only one that sells animé at an ok price, Videonova, but they don't have the best selection. I order most of my animé from a Danish internetsite called dvdstrax.com. They import from the UK and US. They do have "Legend og the twilight"

Quick question about the //Legend of the Twilight manga - are they by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto? I know he designed a lot of the characters, but does he do the .hack manga as well?
I was really impressed by his version of events for the Evangelion manga, which he did the story for as well.

*goes to check the cover*
The art is done by Rei Izumi and the story is written by Tatsuya Hamazki.

Just got the first Legend animé. Not as funny as the manga, but not bad. Stay away from the soundtrack though.

Has anyone else heard that Vol 3 of the manga has been delayed? I heard that the japanese magazine that was running the series in it stopped printing it for a while, so Vol 3 has had a delayed translation, etc. and is now released on :
November 9th 2004 :(

BTW, What is the best reliable place I can order the mangas from online? I ordered them about a month ago on amazon, and I got an e-mail today to allow another 2 weeks for Vol 1. :( >>>

DeadParrot
25-05-2004, 02:18 pm
I don't know, but I've heard that vol 2 is difficult to get. Sold out at the distibutor.

Page
25-05-2004, 02:26 pm
Amazon are pretty reliable in my experience. It just might not be in stock at the moment; I ordered mine about a month ago as well and got them within a few days.

But I hope you're wrong about vol 3 being delayed, I thought the original date for release was far enough away. :(

Hogso

Heres the link : http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?page=product&productid=2731
Judge for yourself, but TokyoPop is pretty reliable...
Also, if you click on 'Manga Preview' there are some scans from one of them. It might be Vol 3, but I dont know, as I am STILL waiting for Vols 1+2

Just found an interesting pic : http://img26.photobucket.com/albums/v78/Shoujiwolf/scan0002.jpg
I dont know if its from the next volume or not, but apparently its of various .hack characters in Real Life, ie. the player at the terminal.
Who's who, I dont know, but supposedly they are mainly characters from the manga, including Balmung...

But it could be a red herring, and as for its original source, I dont know

Page
26-05-2004, 02:23 pm
Yeah, it definately looks like the characters from the manga. I can recognise all but a few of them, but even then I can make a guess as to who they are. And I think that the guy at the back facing in the other direction is Balmung. Maybe.

DIE2K
26-05-2004, 04:46 pm
I think it's gonna be only 3 discs...
Since each disc has 4 or 5 episodes, and the series is 12 episodes long.

Disc 1 (limited edition has a box to collect them in) and Disc 2 is allready out now ;)

sorry ppl but i have to revive this thread as i have only just found out about dothack legend of the twilight DVD and it resurrected my love for .hack

from what i know now there are 3 DVD's but they are all region 1, so only americans have the luxury of seeing them

does anyone know if there are any region 2 DVD or if there will be any in the future???

mimiru_rei
25-08-2004, 12:23 am
i just had a quick look on amazon uk, considering the uk hasn't had all the hack://sign dvds yet (i think) i wouldn't imagine they will be released soon. it may be better to get the imports rather than wait.

French company Beez are translating the dvds for europe. the website is www.beez.fr the french section is the only working one but speaks of them turning the dvds into french and english, possibly more in the future so then you can have .hack//SIGN on dvd with the bonus episodes only avaliable on the special versions in america, we get the standard :D:D:D once that iscompleted if it is a success then DUSK or Legend of the Twighlight will also be released Region 2, any french speakers please translate some of the site ;)

Amazon is fine, its a proper shop, were as e-bay is just normal people like you and me, they could charge you, you send the money and they dont send the goods, all you can do about it is send them a nasty e-mail, and report it to e-bay, and all they do is add to your name that your a nasty person and have a bad history on selling items

not at all reliable, but good tips there if you want to try scamming anyone, lol, jk

if that is true then .hack 3 is out, i just know most retailers dont have it because of its inpopularity, but Games and HMV still stock it but keep it hidden, ask if you cant see it. On its release date they have it up front tho when its easy to find.

or try calling HMV and asking them to order it, they will send you a letter or call you when it arrives, then you just turn up with the money, Virgin Megastores also have it

i went to cornwall once when i was realy little, so im not sure what its like, too long ago lol, but any video and dvd store should be able to order it for you if they dont have it in.

Even blockbuster order videos and dvds for you if they have been released within the last year.
